How the Tier Ratings Work

Every vote helps shape how characters are ranked across Top Girl (Apex Girl). When you select a tier, you're giving your personal take on how strong, useful, or enjoyable that character feels to play. These rankings aren’t official stats — they’re reflections of how the community feels with specific characters. Below the Personal Ranking is a quick breakdown of what each tier generally means when rating a character.

S Tier — The Standouts

S-tier characters are the ones that just feel unbeatable. They feel powerful, consistent, and almost always deliver no matter the situation. Players often find them reliable in both PvE and PvP parts of the game, while usually having strong synergy with multiple team compositions. If a character lands here, it’s because players genuinely see them as top performers or fan-favorite picks.

Common traits of S-tier characters:

  • Highly effective across a specific part of the game or multiple parts of the game
  • Works well with most team lineup's
  • Often considered must-have or go-to characters

A Tier — Strong and Reliable

A-tier characters might not always dominate every matchup, but they still perform extremely well in the right hands. They bring great value to a team, and when used strategically, they can go toe-to-toe with S-tier picks. Most players find them dependable and versatile without being overpowered.

B Tier — Balanced but Situational

B-tier characters usually have a few strengths and a few flaws. They can shine in certain lineups or modes but may need the right setup to truly stand out. They’re great for players who like to experiment and build around their favorites rather than follow the meta too closely.

C Tier — Niche or Hard to Optimize

C-tier doesn’t mean bad — it usually means the character requires specific conditions or support to work well. They might have one strong ability that’s fun but not always practical in every situation. Some players enjoy finding creative ways to make these characters shine despite their limitations.

D Tier — Needs Some Love

D-tier characters tend to be the least favored by the community, often because they struggle to stand out or feel outdated compared to others. Still, that doesn’t mean they’re unplayable — some players vote D-tier simply because they think a character deserves a buff or rework. If you love one of these picks, your votes and feedback help make their case for improvement.
